Role Overview

Are you passionate about toys, children's creativity, and mould design? This position blends all three by focusing on plastic injection mould design within a global manufacturing environment. The role requires a strong foundation in mould design plus a collaborator’s mindset to support international teams, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of mould designs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as representative for EMF Mould Design in escalation discussions, and help align decisions on external mould rework requests.
  • Perform rework on STM (Standard Tool Moulds) and 3LM (3rd Generation Legacy Moulds) using Siemens Teamcenter and Siemens NX CAD system alongside global partners.
  • Document and share learnings from design errors, ensuring updates by external constructors and knowledge dissemination across the team.
  • Engage in continuous learning from the mould rework process experiences to bolster team capabilities.
  • Support building contractor capabilities to meet external construction standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements aimed at reducing lead time and costs while enhancing quality.
  • Help develop standards aligned with LEGO Group’s mold strategy for future moulds.
  • Provide input to improve and evolve base mould designs within Siemens NX CAD system.
  • Review and approve 3D/2D mould designs on external platforms to ensure quality adherence.
  • Be responsible for specific deliverables and the quality of mould designs on the external platform, ensuring comprehensive delivery scope for each mould design solution.

About the Team

EMF Mould Design handles the delivery of detailed mould specifications for both new and reorder moulds produced by suppliers worldwide. With over 250 mould designs created yearly, use of Siemens NX and Teamcenter aids in managing this volume within a standardized classification system. This role requires analytical abilities to troubleshoot mould design challenges and devise effective technical solutions while collaborating across cultures and countries.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Mould Designer focusing on manufacturing plastic injection moulds.
  • Minimum one year of experience specifically in plastic injection mould design including understanding toolmaking techniques.
  • Competency with CAD software, especially Siemens NX, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP systems.
  • Strong communication abilities and skill in managing stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience working with remote and cross-cultural global teams.
  • Analytical mindset to evaluate mould design issues and produce solid technical solutions.
  • Good understanding of LEGO building element specifications regarding aesthetics and functionality.
  • Motivated to apply Lean principles in daily work processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in English communication (C1–C2 level).

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with various moulding procedures and plastic materials.
  • Exposure to simulation (CAE) tools and similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of additive manufacturing techniques relevant to mould design and tempering.
  • Background in data collection supporting fact-based decision-making.
