Job Overview

Are you passionate about toys, creativity, and mould design? This position merges all three, offering a chance to contribute to children's creative development by working on mould designs for the LEGO Group. Based in Singapore, this full-time remote role involves collaborating with global and multicultural teams, ensuring high-quality mould designs while driving continuous improvements and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the EMF Mould Design team in escalations, negotiating and resolving requests related to external mould design revisions.
• Perform rework on Standard Tool Moulds (STM) and 3rd Generation Legacy Moulds (3LM) utilizing Siemens Teamcenter and Siemens NX CAD systems, partnering closely with international stakeholders.
• Document design errors, update external constructors, and distribute extracted learning points among team members.
• Engage in leveraging learning opportunities throughout the mould rework process.
• Ensure contractors possess the required skills and resources to produce constructions adhering to external standards.
• Collaborate on process alignment aimed at reducing lead time and costs while boosting quality.
• Assist in developing future mould standards aligned with the LEGO Group's strategic goals.
• Contribute inputs to improve base mould designs within the CAD environment (Siemens NX).
• Review and approve 3D/2D mould design outputs on external platforms.
• Take ownership of specific mould design deliverables on external platforms, ensuring scope completion and quality standards.

About the Team and Volume

EMF Mould Design is responsible for delivering mould specifications for both new and reorder moulds, manufacturing over 250 designs annually worldwide. The role supports managing 500+ STM moulds delivered globally, maintaining high standards essential for LEGO product quality.

Candidate Profile and Required Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in plastic injection mould design, preferably with a background in manufacturing plastic injection moulds.
• Strong knowledge of toolmaking processes.
• Proficiency with CAD systems, especially Siemens NX, as well as Microsoft Office and SAP software.
• Excellent communication and skills in managing stakeholders, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Experience collaborating with remote and cross-cultural teams possessing a global outlook.
• Ability to analyze mould design challenges and provide practical technical solutions.
• Understanding of LEGO building element requirements regarding appearance, tactile feel, and function.
• Motivated to work using Lean principles.
• Advanced English skills in both spoken and written forms (Level C1–C2).

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Familiarity with moulding techniques and plastic material properties.
• Experience with simulation tools such as CAE and related computer-aided engineering software.
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing techniques related to mould design and tempering.
• Experience in data-driven decision-making and collection methodologies.

Additional Information

The position is located in Singapore with no relocation support. Employment passes for non-residents depend on government approval and are not guaranteed.
