Motor Surveyor

Job Overview

Our Dubai office is seeking a Motor Surveyor responsible for conducting independent, expert evaluations of motor vehicle damages resulting from accidents and insured events. The role entails physically inspecting damaged vehicles, gauging the extent and types of damage, deciding on repair feasibility, and producing detailed cost estimates. The surveyor will verify repair expenses and offer technical advice to ensure claims are handled fairly and efficiently, following company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical inspections of vehicles damaged through accidents or other covered incidents.
• Identify and record all visible and consequential damages, assessing their severity and consistency with accident circumstances.
• Develop precise repair cost estimates including labor, spare parts, paint, and materials, comparing these with market rates and garage quotations.
• Advise claims teams on suitable repair approaches and estimated expenditure; determine if vehicles should be repaired or declared total loss as per internal policies.
• Engage with approved repair workshops to discuss estimates and repairs; monitor ongoing repairs and perform secondary inspections when new damages are found.
• Create detailed survey reports, maintain photographic documentation, and ensure accurate recording in claims systems within specified timelines.
• Interact professionally with clients, brokers, garages, and internal departments to explain findings, resolve disputes, and coordinate claim procedures.
• Detect potential fraudulent claims by identifying inconsistencies, staged accidents, duplicate damage, and inflated repair estimates.
• Perform all tasks compliant with UAE insurance laws and company policies, adhering to professional and technical standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or closely related field preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant motor surveying, automotive repair, dealership, or insurance claims technical assessment experience.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, repair techniques, spare parts, paint work, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with UAE motor insurance claims processes and networks is highly advantageous.
• Valid UAE driving license is required.
• Experience inspecting diverse vehicle types, including luxury, commercial, hybrid, and electric models is beneficial.
