Overview
Join Xerxes, a division of Mattr, as a Molder where you will be essential in creating fiberglass reinforced plastic products to support our customers and manufacturing operations. You will report to the Production Manager and focus on producing various fiberglass components like single-wall and double-wall shells and domes while upholding quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply materials manually or with machines to fabricate both standard and custom fiberglass products following established protocols.
- Prepare molds and associated tooling surfaces using release films, wax, and other agents to ensure proper part release.
- Handle materials such as resin, glass, catalysts, and mold releases adapting procedures to environmental changes.
- Trim fiberglass parts accurately based on process documentation, drawings, and verbal guidance.
- Inspect laminate surfaces for defects, contaminants, or irregularities and perform corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain production and quality standards efficiently managing time and material consumption to meet goals.
- Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and security protocols and actively promote a safe workplace.
- Promptly report any incidents and contribute to related investigations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisory staff to support smooth production flow and continuous improvement.
- Offer suggestions to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent credential.
- Previous manufacturing experience is not mandatory but is helpful.
- Experience in fiberglass reinforced plastic production or related industrial environments is a plus.
- Strong focus on quality and production standards within manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
- Competent verbal and written communication in English.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude with eagerness to learn new tools, equipment, and methods.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during production.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
