About the Role

Dr. Oetker is a leading international food company with roots dating back to 1891, operating in over 40 countries. Our state-of-the-art pizza production facility in London, Ontario, employs around 300 associates and produces well-known brands like Ristorante, Casa di Mama, and Giuseppe pizzas. Our high-volume automated production lines convert raw ingredients like flour and yeast into finished frozen pizzas for retail distribution.

We are currently seeking a Millwright for our continental shift to work in a dynamic production environment. This role involves diverse responsibilities, providing opportunities to own tasks, solve problems, and gain insight into food manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on plant infrastructure and process machinery.
  • Build, install, dismantle, and maintain various equipment as required.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of reliability strategies and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of PLC systems controlling custom automated machines.
  • Actively participate in HACCP food safety protocols to identify and mitigate production hazards.
  • Adhere strictly to Dr. Oetker’s Health & Safety and Food Safety & Security standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Interprovincial licensed Millwright (433A).
  • Preferably experience in mechanical maintenance within the food or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Understanding and operational knowledge of HVAC systems to sustain optimal facility conditions.
  • Experience with PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, and pneumatics, preferably Siemens S7 controllers.
  • Capability to work under tight deadlines independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical ability to handle heavy loads up to 25 kg and maintain good hand-eye coordination.
  • Stamina for prolonged standing and performing tasks involving sitting, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Possess reliable personal transportation as public transit is unavailable for this site.
  • Compliance with production area policies disallowing piercings, jewelry, nail polish, fake eyelashes, and false nails.
  • Willingness to handle pork, chicken, beef, and dairy products during work.
  • Availability to work rotating 12-hour shifts on a four-week cycle.

  • Uniform and safety boots provided, with reimbursements available.
  • Competitive wage starting from $43.90 to $46.90 per hour.
  • $500 annual tool allowance.
