Established by students from the health sciences community, Thaheen enables learners to acquire courses individually or through discounted bundles. The platform offers recorded lectures led by expert instructors, supplemented with practice questions modeled after real exams, allowing students to study at their own pace. Thaheen is currently operational with paying users, and the next phase involves developing the student mobile app, web portal, and backend supporting both platforms. The product focuses on Arabic language accessibility, and the team remains compact.

Role Overview

We seek a Mid-Level Flutter Developer to craft the Thaheen student mobile application compatible with iOS and Android. The Flutter codebase is in its early stages with foundational elements established, but much of the product's features are yet to be developed. Responsibilities include end-to-end feature implementation from user interface creation to API integration. You will be working closely with the founders and a small engineering team, gaining substantial influence and ownership over the app's development and its impact on paying students.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position, with regular communication and check-ins involving the founders and engineering team. The emphasis is on delivering functional results and maintaining clear, early communication rather than adhering to rigid schedules or excessive meetings. You are free to structure your workday flexibly, provided that team communication remains transparent and proactive problem reporting is maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and release Flutter application features such as course browsing, video lessons, practice questions, and payment processing on both iOS and Android.
• Handle full feature development lifecycle including UI design and backend API integration.
• Integrate REST APIs managing authentication workflows, sessions, access tokens, and token refresh mechanisms securely.
• Maintain application state following established state management patterns within the codebase.
• Implement consistent UI states for loading, empty views, error scenarios, and successful operations.
• Design Arabic-first user interfaces with proper right-to-left (RTL) layout support compatible with various smartphones and tablets.
• Implement local storage and caching to ensure smooth performance in low connectivity environments.
• Troubleshoot bugs, crashes, and performance issues accurately and provide thorough fixes.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Incorporate useful tests to improve code quality.
• Engage in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
• Understand current architecture before proposing significant modifications.

Ownership and Impact

• Complete ownership of the mobile app including feature quality, technical decisions, stability, and performance in production.
• Responsible for the holistic feature flow encompassing state management, handling failure cases, and managing unexpected API responses.

Candidate Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Flutter and Dart development.
• Experience in releasing at least one Flutter app to real users.
• Proficient in REST API integration with handling of JSON data, authentication processes, access and refresh tokens.
• Practical knowledge of at least one state management tool such as Riverpod, Bloc/Cubit, or Provider.
• Comfortable with Git workflow including pull requests and code reviews.
• Capable of understanding and working with existing codebases autonomously.
• Candidates with slightly less than two years but solid production experience are encouraged to apply.

• Background in e-learning, subscription-based, or course-driven products.
• Experience with push notifications, payment integration, video playback, and protected streaming.
• Knowledge of offline support techniques and caching strategies.
• Experience designing layouts for tablets alongside phones.
• Familiarity with unit and widget testing.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.
