Merchandiser

Overview

This role involves managing the placement and presentation of products within large retail stores such as grocery chains. Tasks include loading, stocking, and rotating products on shelves and in coolers, as well as setting up promotional displays. Interaction with store personnel is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays in assigned retail locations.
• Manage product rotation both on shelves and in back storage areas.
• Transfer items from storage to sales floor using appropriate equipment like pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Install promotional materials such as banners and signage.
• Maintain order and cleanliness in back rooms.
• Communicate any store-related issues to store management and company supervisors.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with store staff.
• Adhere to standardized operating procedures including check-in/check-out and assigned routes.
• Provide customer service by responding attentively to store personnel needs.
• Operate with minimal supervision and self-manage daily tasks.
• Use handheld devices for order entry and management.
• Ensure consistent attendance and reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Pass any required physical capability assessments.
• Possess reliable personal transportation and valid U.S. driver's license with proof of insurance.
• Ability to lift and move cases weighing 20-45 pounds, including activities requiring bending, reaching, and squatting.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work experience in retail or grocery operations, including inventory management and stocking.
• Proficient in safely using equipment such as hand trucks, U-Boats, and pallet jacks for moving merchandise.
• Experience creating attractive merchandising displays, keeping shelves stocked, and managing product rotation and expiration.
• Familiarity with organizing and maintaining backroom stock areas.
• Customer service experience handling requests and resolving complaints.
