Overview
This position involves overseeing, planning, and coordinating maintenance tasks for dairy processing and packaging equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and effective operations. It emphasizes maximizing equipment availability, enhancing asset performance, steering preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives, managing maintenance teams and contractors, and fostering continuous improvements while adhering to food safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across dairy processing and packaging lines.
- Create and uphold maintenance schedules aimed at reducing production interruptions.
- Promptly diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and utility system issues.
- Prioritize work requests based on impact on operations, safety considerations, and production demands.
- Oversee equipment performance monitoring and suggest enhancements to boost reliability and operational efficiency.
- Lead equipment reliability programs and conduct root cause analyses for recurring equipment malfunctions.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs including equipment uptime, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
- Contribute to capital projects, equipment modernizations, and installation of new manufacturing assets.
- Keep detailed maintenance documentation, equipment histories, and inventory of spare parts.
- Ensure maintenance activities adhere to sanitary and hygienic design guidelines.
- Engage in audits and execute corrective measures as needed.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with dairy industry mandates and food safety standards.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Root Cause Analysis techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Maintenance Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Preferably experienced with dairy-specific equipment such as pasteurizers, homogenizers, separators, fillers, packaging machines, Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems, refrigeration, and utility systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and automation technologies.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like 1C, SAP PM, Maximo, or Infor.
- Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies and reliability engineering concepts.
- Proficient in troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment.
- Familiarity with maintenance performance metrics and continuous improvement frameworks such as TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
- Experience managing maintenance operations in continuous 24/7 production environments.
- Understanding of dairy industry compliance requirements and food safety regulations is advantageous.
