Job description

Role Overview

This position involves maneuvering trailers under supervisor direction, loading trucks as required, and performing various related tasks to ensure efficient yard operations.

Daily Preparation

  • Complete Vehicle Condition Report (VCR) for both jockey truck and forklift, when applicable.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment.

Trailer Handling Duties

  • Relocate trailers between lot and dock doors as instructed.
  • Coordinate with foreman and supervisor to move raw material loads to designated doors.
  • Install and remove trailer supports as needed.

Loading Responsibilities

  • Review Bill of Lading (BOL) for products to be loaded.
  • Perform final certification of all outbound shipments.
  • Consult foreman regarding any out-of-stock products.
  • Complete loading by securing partial pallets appropriately.
  • Manage paperwork processing via the National Inventory System (NIS) or submit to supervisor.
  • Stage and load pallets into trucks when ready.

Cleanup and Maintenance

  • Complete partial pallets and store mixed pallets properly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and high housekeeping standards within the workspace.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old; if a valid U.S. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required, the minimum age is 21.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. CDL with Non-Excepted Interstate Status if applicable.
  • Comply with specific California location requirements regarding non-excepted intrastate and interstate status.
  • Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and road test if required.
  • Adhere to all DOT regulations where relevant.
  • Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying loads between 20 and 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Effective communication skills in English if CDL is necessary.
  • Adherence to PepsiCo Beverages North America safety standards.
