Merchandiser

Position Overview

This role is tasked with organizing and merchandising products within high-volume retail outlets such as grocery stores. Key activities include stocking shelves, rotating stock, setting up displays, replenishing coolers, maintaining backroom organization, and transferring inventory to sales areas. Interaction with store staff is an integral part of the position.

Primary Duties

• Stock and arrange products on shelves, coolers, and promotional displays in designated stores
• Perform rotation of items both on the shelf and in the storage room to ensure freshness
• Transfer products from backrooms to sales floors using manual transport equipment like pallet jacks and hand trucks
• Install promotional signage and display materials within retail locations
• Maintain a clean and organized backroom environment
• Report any store-related concerns to store management and company representatives
• Develop and nurture positive relationships with store personnel
• Follow established operating procedures including scanning protocols and route adherence
• Work assigned schedules consistently and reliably
• Operate with limited supervision, executing self-managed workflows
• Use handheld devices for order processing

Physical and Operational Requirements

• Engage in labor-intensive activity including lifting cases weighing 20-45 pounds, bending, squatting, and sustained physical movement
• Must have dependable personal transportation and a valid U.S. driver's license with proof of insurance to navigate multiple locations during shifts

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years
• Successful completion of physical capability testing if required
• Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license and vehicle insurance
• Reliable access to personal transportation

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with retail or grocery store operations, including inventory management and shelving
• Experience safely moving stock with equipment such as hand trucks, dollies, or pallet jacks
• Skills in creating attractive product displays, maintaining shelf cleanliness, and managing stock rotation
• Handling backroom stock organization and inventory control
• Demonstrated ability to engage customers effectively and address their needs or concerns

Additional Details

This position typically follows a fixed schedule, with the possibility of varying work hours. Mileage reimbursement is provided for use of personal vehicles during work-related routes.
