MEP Draftsman Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented MEP Draftsman Coordinator to assist in the execution of MEP projects, focusing on drawing coordination, documentation management, and on-site support activities. The candidate should demonstrate strong AutoCAD expertise, thorough understanding of MEP systems, and the capability to read and interpret related construction drawings accurately. Effective coordination with various stakeholders including consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, review, and update MEP shop, coordination, construction, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Ensure alignment and resolve clashes between MEP, architectural, structural, and civil drawings through coordination.
• Support the MEP Project Manager by assisting in project scheduling, monitoring progress, and facilitating site coordination.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site engineers to meet technical and project needs.
• Prepare and follow up on shop drawings, material submissions, RFIs, method statements, and necessary approvals.
• Manage drawing registers, project documentation, record revisions, and maintain technical files accurately.
• Track site progress and update drawings reflecting as-built conditions and approved modifications.
• Assist with the coordination of materials, procurement tracking, testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
• Document meeting minutes and oversee the completion of technical and coordination action items.
• Contribute to BIM/Revit coordination tasks as required to enhance project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

• Holding a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, MEP, Building Services, Drafting, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated construction industry experience within UAE or GCC regions, specifically in MEP drafting and project coordination.
• Prior involvement as an MEP Draftsman, MEP Coordinator, or MEP Technical Coordinator.
• Comprehensive knowledge of MEP systems and construction drawings is essential.
• Mandatory proficiency in AutoCAD software.
• Familiarity with Revit MEP and BIM coordination processes will be considered advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Excellent documentation skills and project coordination capabilities.
