MEP BIM Modeler

About the Role

DesignTech Alliance is seeking a skilled MEP BIM Modeler to contribute to a significant project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The expert will specialize in developing and maintaining detailed MEP BIM models, particularly at LOD 500 As-Built level, ensuring the models reflect precise construction conditions and meet all BIM standards.

Key Duties

• Create and update accurate 3D MEP BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
• Generate LOD 500 As-Built models utilizing redline drawings, site markups, and verified installation data.
• Analyze construction and technical drawings, incorporating changes meticulously into BIM models.
• Coordinate MEP designs alongside Architectural and Structural disciplines to ensure integrated models.
• Conduct model reviews, clash detection, and coordination through Navisworks software.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve modeling and coordination challenges.
• Prepare and maintain BIM models consistent with project-specific BIM standards and data requirements.
• Produce 2D drawings, views, and documentation derived from BIM outputs.
• Deliver BIM models in formats including Native Revit, IFC, and NWD files.
• Ensure uniformity in model naming, accuracy, and data completeness throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings, implementing agreed changes promptly.
• Continuously update models to reflect ongoing construction progress and as-built conditions.
• Engage closely with engineers, BIM coordinators, site teams, and stakeholders for precise BIM deliverables.

Required Qualifications & Expertise

• At least 5 years of direct experience in MEP BIM modeling.
• Advanced skills with Autodesk Revit MEP.
• Familiarity with Navisworks and AutoCAD software.
• Demonstrated expertise in LOD 500 As-Built modeling.
• Experienced in handling redline drawings and on-site verified information.
• In-depth knowledge of MEP systems and related construction methods.
• Proficient in multidisciplinary model coordination and clash detection.
• Experience delivering BIM outputs in Native Revit, IFC, and NWD formats.
• Solid understanding of BIM processes, coordination workflows, and data management.
• Ability to interpret complex MEP drawings and technical documentation accurately.
• Strong attention to detail ensuring model precision and consistency.
• Prior involvement in UAE projects, especially within Abu Dhabi, will be considered advantageous.

Preferred MEP Systems Experience

• Hands-on modeling experience in HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in Plumbing system modeling.
• Experience with Fire Fighting system models.
• Electrical system BIM modeling expertise.
