Mechanical Engineer - Mandarin Speaking

Job Location

Based in Singapore.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

• Design detailed mechanical components and develop process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) in line with project specifications.
• Conduct engineering calculations and determine equipment sizing requirements.
• Examine project specifications to ensure compliance with client demands.
• Compile engineering documentation, including lists for equipment, valves, piping schedules, and instruments.
• Assess 3D skid models, general arrangement drawings, piping layouts, and skid structural designs.
• Collaborate closely with Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation engineers for project coordination.
• Source and analyze quotations from vendors, fabricators, and subcontractors.
• Review vendor engineering documentation to confirm adherence to project criteria.
• Engage in design review meetings both internally and with external parties.
• Draft operations and maintenance manuals and assist during system testing and commissioning phases.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

• Holder of a Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
• Possesses between 5 to 8 years of relevant industrial experience, particularly in water and wastewater treatment sectors.
• Specific expertise in designing industrial water treatment skid systems is mandatory.
• Experience within the oil and gas sector is considered beneficial.
• Well-versed with pertinent industry standards and technical specifications.
• Capability to manage several projects simultaneously and work efficiently in a culturally diverse work environment.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
• Open and prepared for business travel as required.
• Fluent in Mandarin to facilitate communication with clients, suppliers, and regional stakeholders speaking Mandarin.
