Job description
Overview
Join the R&D team at Evertz to engage in designing and developing precision mechanical components essential for film transport, as well as high frequency digital and analog electronic subassembly enclosures used globally in top-tier television broadcast and film production environments.
This role offers involvement in diverse and challenging projects across the entire development lifecycle, culminating in production-ready designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research, plan and engineer electro-mechanical enclosures utilizing 3D parametric CAD software such as Solid Edge.
- Collaborate extensively with engineering teams to gather comprehensive design inputs leading to finalized solutions.
- Engage suppliers directly to clarify project requirements and ensure alignment.
- Design fixtures, test jigs, tooling, and gauges; oversee, regulate, and document changes to designs.
- Manage prototype and production sample fabrication processes.
- Contribute to product definition, conceptual development, part drawing creation, exploration of novel packaging techniques, cost analysis, supplier interactions, part and assembly qualification, and parts/drawing release.
- Assist manufacturing teams by interpreting engineering drawings and addressing production challenges.
- Undertake additional engineering department duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Strong proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) methodologies.
- Proactive, goal-driven, self-motivated individual who thrives in team environments.
- Expertise in 3D design software such as Solid Edge and AutoCAD.
- Knowledgeable about sheet metal fabrication, machined components, extrusions, welding practices, wiring methods, and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation.
- Experience with electro-mechanical packaging, including mounting circuit boards, cabling, connectors, and switches, is a plus.

Additional Information
Location: Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Salary Range: $60,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience
