Automation Engineer

Role Overview

The ELV & Gate Automation Installation Engineer will independently oversee the installation, integration, and final testing of automated entrance systems and low-voltage smart building networks. This role merges mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and digital programming responsibilities, ensuring site cleanliness and project efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

• Verify site preparation including conduit placement by civil contractors prior to surface finishing works.
• Assemble and mount motorized sliding/swing gates, rolling shutters, boom barriers, turnstiles, and electronic bollards with full wiring.
• Integrate mechanical barriers with security platforms such as biometric readers, RFID long-range scanners, numeric keypads, and locks.
• Program system controllers, synchronize devices, calibrate speeds, and configure electronic limit switches.
• Install and connect safety features like photoelectric beams, loop detectors, anti-crush sensors, and emergency overrides.
• Configure smart app connections, Wi-Fi/GSM modules, and remote keyfobs for end-user operation.
• Manage onsite installation of IP CCTV, multi-unit intercoms, video door phones, and digital access systems.
• Route, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling including Cat5, Cat6, and multi-core control cables.
• Prepare detailed pre-installation checklists, site surveys, and wiring blueprints.
• Submit daily progress, measurements, and inventory reports promptly.
• Provide onsite training and safety instructions to helpers and deliver client handover training covering operation and safety protocols.

Qualification & Candidate Profile

• Educational background: Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or ITI certification (Electrician or Fitter).
• Work experience: 2 to 5+ years in physical gate automation, automatic doors, or smart building ELV contracting.
• Technical skills: Strong knowledge of low-voltage circuits (under 50V AC/120V DC), reading wiring schematics, and gear tooth alignment verification.
• Mobility requirements: Must have personal two-wheeler and valid driving license with flexibility for local and outstation project travel.
