Role Overview

The Mechanic position entails maintaining, servicing, and repairing a diverse array of vehicles and equipment vital to lodge operations. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues and performing preventive upkeep on assets such as ride-on lawnmowers, troop carriers and passenger vans, boats seating over 30 individuals, heavy-duty 4x4 off-road buses, golf buggies, and generators up to 550 watts. Ensuring all machinery adheres to safety standards and operates dependably is central to supporting daily functions and guest services.

Qualifications and Experience

• Preferred certification in Automotive Mechanical Technology or Diesel Mechanics; further credentials in marine mechanics or small engine repair are advantageous.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is essential; heavy vehicle endorsement is desirable.
• Expertise in diagnosing and repairing various engines including diesel, small gasoline, and marine engines.
• At least three years of mechanic experience, ideally within remote, tourism-focused, or multi-vehicle contexts.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
• Effective communication skills for team collaboration and maintaining accurate service documentation.
