Apache Mechanical Technician (Avionics)

About the Role

Boeing Global Service is recruiting an Apache Mechanical Technician specializing in avionics to support the Qatar Air Force Maintenance Augmentation Team (MAT) for the AH-64E helicopters at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This role is fully onsite and involves hands-on technical maintenance and aircraft readiness tasks to uphold operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting on AH-64E helicopter electrical, avionics, armament, fire control, radar, visionics, and aircraft survivability equipment (ASE) systems using QAF-specific technical manuals and guidelines.
• Identify and repair malfunctions in aircraft systems including solid state and transistorized components as per safety standards and technical directives.
• Execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modification authorizations, and adjustments related to weapons systems and other mechanical and electronic devices.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments and alignment fixtures to maintain system integrity. Handle armament activities including loading, unloading, arming, de-arming, and configuring weapon subsystems of the AH-64E.
• Perform operational system checks and test aircraft diagnostic equipment and test sets to ensure functionality.
• Support requisition and upkeep of repair shop and bench stock inventories for armament, avionics, instruments, fire control, radar, visionics, ASE, and related systems.
• Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance verifications while maintaining accurate documentation and maintenance records.
• Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and mentorship to local QAF personnel on technical manuals, proper use of maintenance tools, and aircraft ground support equipment, enhancing their technical proficiencies.
• Coordinate technical training and maintain flexibility for short-notice travel requirements including domestic and international assignments.
• Operate under general supervision while demonstrating initiative and technical expertise.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience as an Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/ASE Technician with AH-64D/E helicopters.
• At least three years of experience using Unit Level Logistics System-Aviation (ULLS-A(E)) or equivalent aviation maintenance management systems.
• Completion of formal qualifications through U.S. military aircraft maintenance courses or civilian equivalents validated by contracting authorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional experience or instructor roles related to aircraft electrical and armament systems.
• Familiarity with aviation maintenance in desert or Southwest Asia operational environments.
• Proficiency with aviation maintenance management software beyond minimum requirement.
