This Field Service Mechanic position is based in Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand, where you will deliver repair and maintenance services for Komatsu mobile plant machinery directly at customer locations across the region.

Key Responsibilities

You'll manage your daily schedule independently, traveling directly to various sites from your home, fostering strong relationships with customers, and ensuring high-quality service with consistent demand providing job stability and diverse technical challenges.

Candidate Profile

This opportunity is available even if you do not possess prior experience with mobile plant equipment. Applicants with professional backgrounds in road transport or heavy commercial vehicles (such as trucks, buses or trailers) are encouraged to apply, as structured training and hands-on support will be provided to facilitate your transition into this field.

Location and Hours

• Position based in Invercargill.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

• Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Heavy Vehicle, or Automotive Mechanics.
• Experience servicing trucks, buses, trailers, or mobile plant equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and efficiently manage daily tasks.
• Commitment to workplace safety and delivering quality workmanship.
• Effective communication skills and customer-oriented attitude.
• Possession of a Class 1 driver licence; Class 2 licence is an advantage.
