Position Overview

We are hiring a Meat Clerk for our retail store in Modesto, CA. This role involves maintaining meat product quality by cleaning, inspecting, rotating stock, replenishing displays, and monitoring expiration dates. Strong teamwork aptitude and customer service skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate professionally within the team and deliver outstanding customer service.
• Verify pricing accuracy and ensure sale signs are current by hanging new ones and removing outdated ones.
• Manage inventory and order meats, seafood, and poultry as needed.
• Assist customers by providing relevant product information to guide their purchasing decisions.
• Maintain tidiness and orderliness of the department and product displays.
• Adhere strictly to sanitation and health regulations.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Food Handlers Card.
• Previous experience preparing food in a grocery environment is preferred.
• Friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
• Capability to operate effectively in a fast-moving setting.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Walking continuously during shifts within the store while retrieving products.
• Standing for entire shift durations.
• Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 40 pounds.

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this role is $17.40 to $19.88 per hour. Actual pay is set based on individual qualifications, experience, and training, following California Labor Code 432.3 and wage regulations.
