Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join our team in Doha, Qatar, responsible for delivering comprehensive mathematics education and supporting student development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans ahead of time and submit them via email to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator.
  • Organize and ready all required teaching materials for classes.
  • Achieve objectives outlined in yearly curriculum plans distributed at the start of the academic year.
  • Keep the grade book current, ensuring grades are entered promptly at the end of each evaluation period and semester.
  • Create monthly topic-specific assessments and grade all assigned student work.
  • Decorate the classroom with educational and holiday-related materials.
  • Carry out assigned playground supervision duties.
  • Collaborate with the Psychology Department to support students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
  • Work alongside the Academic Coordinator and psychologist to assist students with special needs, including gifted learners.
  • Participate in meetings with teaching staff, coordinators, and assistant principals, as well as institutional workshops and parent meetings.
  • Attend and contribute to special school activities.
  • Follow the established work schedule, which may vary by grade level.
  • Act as an intermediary between students and refer individuals with emotional, personal, or family difficulties to the psychologist.
  • Coordinate community service projects and fundraising efforts with the psychologist.
  • Support and organize student involvement in fairs and other school events.
  • Invite parents or guardians to meetings or special events when necessary.
  • Record daily attendance using the system or by submitting forms to Academic Support.
  • Collect and organize subject-specific assignments for student portfolios in line with level criteria every evaluation period.
  • Assign students to monitor homework recording and the Homework Board biweekly.
  • Encourage student participation in subcommittees to foster teamwork and engagement in school activities.
  • Maintain open communication channels with students and parents.
  • Promote parental involvement in meetings organized by the school and PTA.
  • Consider and address students' special learning and socio-emotional needs by liaising with the Psychology Department.
  • Adhere to institutional dress code policies.
  • Carry out other relevant duties as assigned related to the position.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in digital tools and intermediate Microsoft Office capabilities.
  • Minimum two years of experience in education.
