Job description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Geography Teacher responsible for planning and delivering lessons in alignment with academic guidelines, maintaining records, and fostering student development. The role requires collaborating closely with coordinators, psychologists, and parents to support students' academic and socio-emotional growth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans in advance and submit them to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator.
- Organize necessary teaching materials for class sessions.
- Achieve the goals established in the annual academic plans.
- Keep the grade book current by entering grades promptly at evaluation periods and semester ends.
- Create monthly topic assessments and grade all assigned student work.
- Maintain classroom displays with relevant lesson, activity, and holiday materials.
- Supervise designated playground duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with the Psychology Department to address academic and behavioral challenges.
- Work jointly with Academic Coordinators and psychologists to support students with special needs, including gifted learners.
- Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, parent meetings, and special events.
- Follow established work schedules; departure time varies by grade.
- Meditate student conflicts and report emotional, personal, or family issues to the psychologist as needed.
- Assist in coordinating community service and fundraising activities in conjunction with the psychology team.
- Organize and support student participation in fairs and similar activities.
- Communicate with parents/guardians to invite them to meetings or events when necessary.
- Record daily student attendance accurately and submit reports to Academic Support.
- Manage subject-specific assignment collection for portfolios each evaluation period.
- Assign students responsibility to record homework and monitor the Homework Board biweekly.
- Encourage student involvement in subcommittees to foster teamwork and engagement.
- Promote open dialogue with students and parents and encourage parental attendance at school meetings.
- Consider and refer students' special learning and socio-emotional needs to the Psychology Department.
- Adhere to institutional dress code policies and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in education.
- Proficient in digital tools and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
