Job description
Job Overview
This role involves planning and delivering French lessons, maintaining organized grade records, collaborating with academic staff and psychologists to support students with varying needs, and participating in school activities and meetings in Doha, Qatar.
Key Duties
- Develop lesson plans in advance and share with Head of Level and Academic Coordinator via email.
- Prepare necessary teaching materials for each class session.
- Execute the academic objectives outlined in the general plans from the year's start.
- Keep the grade book current, submitting grades by official deadlines each evaluation period and semester.
- Create and conduct monthly topic assessments.
- Grade all assigned student work diligently.
- Maintain classroom decorations aligned with lessons, activities, and celebrations.
- Perform assigned playground supervision duties.
- Collaborate with the Psychology Department for students’ academic or behavioral support.
- Work with Academic Coordinator and psychologist to assist students with special educational needs, including gifted learners.
- Attend regular meetings with teaching staff, academic coordinators, and assistant principals.
- Participate in educational workshops and parent meetings.
- Comply stringently with the work schedule, which varies by grade level.
- Mediating student conflicts and informing psychologists regarding emotional or familial issues.
- Assist in organizing community service projects and fundraising activities in collaboration with psychologists.
- Support student participation in fairs and other extracurricular events.
- Inform parents or guardians about meetings or special events as required.
- Record student attendance digitally or submit attendance forms to the Academic Support Department.
- Collect and organize student assignments for portfolios based on level criteria each evaluation period.
- Assign students to monitor homework boards and ensure homework is recorded bi-weekly.
- Encourage student involvement in subcommittees to foster teamwork and school engagement.
- Foster open communication between students and parents and encourage parental participation in school meetings.
- Respect students’ special learning and socio-emotional needs, referring them to the Psychology Department as appropriate.
- Adhere to school uniform and institutional policies.
- Perform any other duties relevant to the position.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related areas required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in an educational setting.
- Proficiency with digital teaching tools and intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing) at an advanced level.
