Mapping Executive - GIS & Strategic Property Development

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a Mapping Executive specializing in GIS and Property Mapping Engineering to assist in the management and development of a prominent national property portfolio. This full-time position, based in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, involves ensuring precise surveying, mapping, and recording of land, boundaries, and ownership data. The role supports land acquisitions, property dealings, strategic infrastructure initiatives, and asset management using GIS, GPS surveying, and CAD tools.

The position includes a combination of office-based GIS and mapping tasks together with field surveying connected to substantial land and infrastructure projects across Ireland.

Salary ranges from €52,546 to €75,472 annually, with yearly increases. Initial appointment is at the starting salary point.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct GPS-based surveys and validate property boundaries.
• Create maps compliant with Land Registry requirements, including contract and legal mapping documents.
• Maintain and enhance GIS databases and spatial datasets.
• Produce CAD drawings and manage property mapping records.
• Support land acquisition efforts through detailed mapping and site due diligence.
• Assist conveyancing procedures by preparing accurate mapping and property documentation.
• Develop and improve GIS workflows, dashboards, and automation processes.
• Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, legal professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Provide GIS support and training sessions for internal teams.
• Investigate and resolve boundary discrepancies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Surveying, Engineering, GIS, Geomatics, or related fields.
• At least three years of professional experience in GIS, surveying, or property mapping roles.
• Competency with ArcGIS, AutoCAD software, and GPS surveying equipment.
• Understanding of property mapping, conveyancing procedures, and title registration.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Possession of a full clean driving license.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with FME, Python, SQL, Oracle, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Experience in developing GIS workflows and automating processes.
