Job Overview
Based in Singapore, the Manufacturing Engineer will develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing methods, operating sequences, and processes involved in fabricating parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. This role works collaboratively across engineering disciplines to coordinate product improvement and release initiatives, applying engineering principles to reduce costs, enhance quality, establish time standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements. Utilizing lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement, the engineer will drive productivity and cost efficiency. Additional responsibilities include developing test procedures, analyzing results, and examining work methods to identify and solve root causes for operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and refine manufacturing test processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Provide production support by diagnosing and resolving issues related to test equipment, software, and products.
- Maintain and improve manufacturing methods and sequences for parts and assemblies.
- Track manufacturing metrics such as yield, throughput, cycle time, and equipment use.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to coordinate product enhancements and new product releases.
- Apply engineering and Design for Excellence (DFx) principles to estimate and cut manufacturing/product costs and boost quality.
- Specify, acquire, and validate test fixtures, tooling, and necessary manufacturing equipment.
- Set time standards; advise on tooling and process requisites.
- Develop test procedures, interpret test outcomes, and evaluate work processes and policies.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action for assembly and system test issues.
- Support training and certify manufacturing staff on test processes and protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- 1-2 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or related fields preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the semiconductor industry, gained through education or experience.
Physical Requirements
This position may require prolonged standing and walking, working in confined spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and color differentiation. The work environment may expose the employee to noise and requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields, especially when working in clean rooms.
