Role Purpose
The Human Resources Manager for Nicaragua takes a strategic leadership role in shaping and executing HR initiatives aligned with business objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor within the business management team, the manager leads transformation efforts to enhance workforce capabilities across all organizational levels, ensuring HR services elevate business performance effectively.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the HR team managing core functions—including Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Employee Engagement, HR administrative support, and Change Management—ensuring adherence to standardized processes aligned with group policies.
- Oversee the HR budget with a balanced focus on both strategic planning and operational HR activities for the country.
- Design, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures compliant with national regulations and reflecting best internal and external practices.
- Plan for future supervisory talent needs across all organizational levels.
- Represent the organization in engagements with labor authorities, trade unions, and workers' associations.
- Act as a consultant, providing advice, coaching, and challenge to employees and managers on topics such as performance management, talent development, hiring, compensation, and benefits, delivering HR solutions that support commercial success.
- Support compliance initiatives including training programs, communication campaigns, audits, and investigations.
Candidate Requirements
- University degree in Human Resources or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in HR roles with expertise in Engagement, Labor Relations, and Health & Safety.
- Fluent English with native Spanish proficiency.
- Strong respect for others combined with results-focused mindset.
- Proven leadership capacity to navigate and influence within a matrix organizational structure involving senior management.
- Ability to derive data-driven insights to inform HR strategies.
- Cultural influencer and champion of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
- Exceptional active listening and negotiation abilities.
- Adept at fostering and managing effective interpersonal relationships across all organizational levels.
