About the Role
Insignia Financial is looking for a Cyber Security Engineering Manager to lead the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of critical security technologies. The position focuses on both cloud and on-premises platforms, aiming to protect vital systems and data in a collaborative environment. This role reports to the Head of Cyber Security Engineering and is located at the Docklands office in Victoria, Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the design, deployment, and management of security systems covering network, endpoints, data protection, and cloud infrastructure.
- Craft and update the cyber security technology roadmap in partnership with leadership and architecture teams.
- Lead technical response efforts during security and high-priority service incidents including investigation, containment, recovery, and post-incident reviews.
- Collaborate with the Cyber Resilience team to enhance security monitoring, SOC processes, threat detection, and platform effectiveness.
- Establish engineering standards, procedures, and best practices for security tool configuration and management.
- Seek opportunities to automate security workflows and elevate operational efficiency.
- Assess security solutions and vendor performance while supporting contractual and service management aspects.
- Manage security technology projects, addressing risks and providing transparent progress updates to stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 8 years experience in cyber security engineering within complex hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
- In-depth practical knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, endpoint protection, data loss prevention, and cloud security solutions.
- Proven leadership capabilities to mentor and guide cyber security engineering teams effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience handling security investigations and remediation tactics.
- Excellent communication skills suitable for conveying complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
- Up-to-date understanding of current cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and frameworks including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Experience managing security technology projects, balancing scope, resources, risks, and delivery goals.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience; certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CCSP are advantageous.
