Maintenance Worker

About the Role

CoreCivic seeks a dedicated Maintenance Worker committed to maintaining high standards of facility care within a secure institutional environment. The role involves installation, upkeep, and repair of building systems and equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the physical infrastructure of the facility to support secure and safe operations.
• Inspect, diagnose issues, and repair machinery and equipment promptly.
• Install and repair electrical wiring and electronic components related to facility machinery and equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment following established maintenance schedules.
• Supervise and monitor inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department to ensure safety and compliance with protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possess a High School diploma, GED, or an equivalent qualification.
• Have a minimum of two years of practical experience in general maintenance or construction.
• Technical or trade school coursework in maintenance or construction can substitute the required experience on a one-to-one basis.
• Preferred knowledge includes building construction techniques and building system operations.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Meet the age requirement of being at least 21 years old.

Additional Information
