Maintenance Worker

Role Overview

CoreCivic is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker focused on delivering excellent care within a secure institutional environment. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing various facility building structures and systems including plumbing, electrical components, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds to support safe and secure operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the facility's physical infrastructure to ensure safety and security.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment efficiently.
• Install and repair electrical wiring and electronic parts of machinery and equipment.
• Execute preventative maintenance on equipment according to established schedules.
• Supervise and monitor inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department diligently.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent certification is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years' experience in general maintenance or construction is necessary.
• Completion of technical or trade school courses related to maintenance or construction can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Familiarity with building construction and building systems operation is advantageous.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Candidates must be at least 21 years old.

Compensation

Hourly wage for this role is $21.22.
