Maintenance Worker

Job Overview

CoreCivic is seeking a committed Maintenance Worker to join our team in Whiteville, TN. This role offers $19.54 per hour and requires dedication to supporting an institutional, secure environment with high professional standards and public service commitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the physical structure of the facility to ensure a safe and secure operational environment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and fix machinery and equipment malfunctions.
• Install and repair electrical systems including wiring and electronic components in machinery and equipment.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks on equipment as outlined in the facility's maintenance schedules.
• Supervise and keep track of inmates or residents assigned to work in the Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

• Possession of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is mandatory.
• At least two years experience in general maintenance or construction is required.
• Technical or trade school courses related to maintenance or construction can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Familiarity with building construction and operation of building systems is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is necessary.
• Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
