Position Overview
As a Maintenance Technician based in Milton Keynes and nearby locations, you will be crucial in maintaining a safe, operational, and welcoming environment across Tesco stores. Your expertise will support both planned and reactive maintenance tasks on various systems and equipment, ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive shopping experience for thousands of customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate effectively with external contractors to facilitate repair work without disrupting store operations.
- Collaborate closely with teammates to uphold high-quality service standards.
- Manage multiple duties while sustaining strong energy and efficiency throughout your tasks.
- Support store management by maintaining equipment and facilities to guarantee smooth running premises.
- Minimize customer inconvenience by organizing repairs with limited disruption.
- Maintain all Tesco sites as safe, fully functioning environments for customers and colleagues.
- Adhere to scheduled maintenance plans aiming for first-time fix success to boost efficiency and productivity.
- Share best practices and technical knowledge within the team to improve overall performance.
- Handle general day-to-day maintenance tasks related to store and property upkeep.
- Utilize mobile devices like phones and tablets to optimize work execution and update status in real-time.
- Represent Tesco's brand values by maintaining professionalism, positive attitude, and pride in your uniform.
- Attend meetings at both local and national levels to contribute feedback and engage with wider maintenance initiatives.
- Support and promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience in maintenance, engineering, or construction roles.
- Qualifications such as ONC or an equivalent certification.
- Valid full driving license.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Office 365 applications.
- Comfort using digital tools including tablets for managing work schedules and communications.
- Completion of relevant technical training and upskilling modules suited to your abilities.
