Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance tasks within assigned apartment buildings while ensuring exceptional service for tenants.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting inside occupied units; maintain accurate logs and timesheets. Address repairs such as fixing leaky taps, replacing faucets, and changing door locks in vacant or turnover units.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas such as stairwells, hallways, and elevators; ensure all lighting, emergency signage, and fire extinguishers operate correctly. Keep storage and boiler rooms tidy, clear walkways by shoveling and salting when needed, and manage waste disposal. Conduct monthly inspections and complete painting and repair jobs punctually.
• Execute physically demanding duties involving ladder and power tool use, employing expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and life safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or equivalent with at least two years’ experience working with HVAC equipment, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Fire Alarm Systems (FAS) within Class A residential buildings required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; vehicle insurance may be necessary.
• Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and email/internet usage.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, push, pull, and navigate stairs regularly.
