Job description
Job Overview
The Assistant Resident Manager oversees the day-to-day management of designated apartment buildings including cleaning, administrative duties, minor repairs, and delivering excellent tenant service.
Primary Duties
- Maintain common areas by sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning glass and chrome surfaces, treating carpet stains, and using air fresheners.
- Prepare vacated units for new tenants by thoroughly cleaning floors, bathrooms, surfaces, and windows.
- Perform seasonal outdoor maintenance such as raking, tending flower beds, snow shoveling, salting walkways, and minor repair work.
- Handle waste management by emptying garbage containers and cleaning around dumpsters as needed.
- Provide administrative support including organizing the rental office, assisting with applications, leases, move-in/out inspections, rent collection and deposits, tenant communications, emails, filing, and faxing.
- Manage tenant inquiries and communications by monitoring phone calls and ensuring tenant satisfaction through professional customer service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or three years of relevant cleaning experience.
- Proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and web usage.
- Familiarity with local policies, building codes, fire codes, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Residential Tenancy Act, and municipal by-laws is advantageous.
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, push, pull, and use stairs frequently.

- Type: Full-time position with rotating schedule requiring weekend and on-call availability.
- Compensation: $38,420 annually which includes rent-free furnished apartment, utilities, and parking.
