Job description
Role Overview
Ventia is seeking a skilled Maintenance Services Employee to join the Department of Transport contract team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will contribute to the upkeep and servicing of navigational aids. While the primary base of operations is at South Fremantle Boat Harbour, this position requires working throughout the Perth metropolitan area and regional Western Australia.
Responsibilities
You will work within the Navigational Aids Team, ensuring aids across Western Australia remain operational through routine and preventative maintenance. Tasks include painting, replacing lanterns, and performing electrical and mechanical servicing. Duties will be carried out on both river and ocean environments, typically in a small crew setting, with servicing performed on a 12-month schedule.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work on water, demonstrates reliability both independently and within a team, prioritizes safety, is well organized, and can travel to remote locations as needed.
Working Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent role with working hours Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including some flexibility and opportunities for overtime. Employees receive one rostered day off per month.
Compensation
The pay rate is $38.47 per hour.
Mandatory Requirements
- Possession of a Western Australia Drivers Licence; Heavy Rigid (HR) licence is highly preferred.
- Coxswain Ticket, Grade 1 or Grade 2.
- Forklift operation licence.
- Certification for Working at Heights.
