Job description
Role Overview
Ventia is seeking a dynamic Field Supervisor to join their East Auckland team. This varied role involves overseeing and supporting operations to meet contractual commitments by managing a team delivering direct labour services across several Auckland council areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of mobile and foot orderlies plus mechanical sweepers to maintain cleanliness of assets and hard surfaces including parks, libraries, pools, and streets.
- Manage employee rostering, duty assignments, and perform necessary administrative tasks.
- Verify and process timesheets ensuring alignment with employee reports.
- Address customer complaints and acknowledge compliments efficiently.
- Oversee maintenance and correct operation of all allocated equipment, vehicles, and mobile plant assets.
- Handle incident reports including vehicle incidents and overspeeding cases.
- Maintain orderly, well-stocked storerooms with thorough stock allocation and record-keeping.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to staff to enhance performance and achieve business goals.
- Facilitate toolbox talks and training sessions, encouraging operational team feedback for continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a tertiary qualification related to sanitation or waste management services.
- Extensive experience in managing and operating plant equipment.
- Proven leadership skills with a history of effectively motivating and managing teams.
- Strong coaching ability focussed on team development.
- Results-driven with aptitude for influencing internal stakeholders.
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, hazard, and risk management procedures.
- Basic computer skills for report writing and email correspondence.
- Availability to work on a rotating 7-day roster including evenings and weekends.
