Role Summary
The Maintenance Scheduler will develop and manage detailed maintenance plans to ensure the highest equipment reliability and minimal downtime. This position acts as the crucial liaison among Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Maintenance teams, ensuring readiness of personnel, materials, and tools prior to job commencement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive maintenance schedules for daily, weekly, and monthly tasks involving plant equipment and infrastructure.
- Coordinate various maintenance activities, including preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency work.
- Manage allocation of manpower, tools, machinery, and materials to maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with Operations to obtain safety clearances, equipment isolations, and schedule maintenance windows carefully.
- Confirm availability of all required spare parts, raw materials, and external services before deployment of work crews.
- Maintain and update scheduling and maintenance records within SAP PM, Maximo, or similar computerized maintenance management systems.
- Monitor backlog of maintenance tasks and devise recovery strategies to reduce pending work orders.
- Develop and analyze key performance indicators related to schedule adherence and equipment uptime.
- Compile and present detailed reports on maintenance performance for management review.
- Support turnaround projects and plant shutdowns with detailed planning and resource coordination.
- Oversee contractor scheduling and ensure compliance with project timelines.
- Work across departments to optimize asset management processes and long-term maintenance strategy.
- Strictly enforce compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment regulations and Permit-to-Work systems.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience focused on maintenance scheduling within oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery, or other heavy industrial sectors.
- Proficient in advanced usage of SAP PM, IBM Maximo, Oracle CMMS, or an equivalent system for asset management.
