Maintenance Preservation Supervisor

Job Overview

This role involves overseeing the preservation processes of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment during project phases to ensure their integrity and readiness for handover. The supervisor will ensure that preservation protocols are effectively implemented, monitored, and documented to facilitate smooth project completion.

Core Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preservation activities across static and rotating machinery, piping, electrical and instrumentation components, capital spares, and specialized tools according to the Project Preservation Plan.
• Maintain accurate equipment logs within Preservation Management Systems such as Hexagon or WinPCS, ensuring traceability of preservation actions.
• Regularly inspect environmental factors like humidity and temperature, reporting any signs of equipment degradation to warehouse and site management.
• Oversee short and long-term storage preservation for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, capital spares, and special tools assets.
• Prepare, track, and maintain preservation records and history sheets, guaranteeing documentation accessibility until formal transfer of equipment.
• Validate that preservation has been properly conducted and duly logged in the database system.
• Ensure all requisite tools and equipment are available and suitable to meet preservation standards.
• Provide daily progress reports directly to the Preservation Lead.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
• A minimum of 5 and up to 10 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within oil and gas or extensive EPC projects.
• Comprehensive expertise in preservation methods including Vapor Corrosion Inhibitors, nitrogen blanketing, protective coatings, and interpretation of material datasheets.
• Strong knowledge of preservation practices, alongside awareness of associated risks and mitigation strategies.
• Proven leadership capabilities with effective communication and reporting skills.
• Experience working in complex, multicultural project environments.
• Competence in using computer applications such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and email for communication and documentation.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
