Role Overview
Join Nyrstar in Port Pirie, South Australia, as a Maintenance Planner integral to advancing maintenance efficiency and planning. This permanent position, reporting to the Maintenance Planning Leader, involves organizing, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance operations to ensure resource and material alignment with operational goals. The role follows a 5-day-on, 2-day-off work roster. Support for relocation is available for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform maintenance notifications into detailed work orders with comprehensive task documentation.
- Design exhaustive job plans covering operations, resource deployment, and supply acquisition.
- Ensure scheduling of at least 80% of maintenance capacity and deliver weekly and daily task schedules.
- Maintain accurate and current maintenance records by revising tasks and updating maintenance intervals.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Maintenance Leaders, Supervisors, and Superintendents to align with production targets.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for materials and service availability.
- Manage contractor documents essential for the completion of maintenance assignments.
- Update and cleanse maintenance management systems, removing outdated tasks and documenting all activities.
- Report weekly on incomplete tasks, schedule adherence, and compliance metrics.
- Utilize SAP or equivalent maintenance software for task planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Embed safety and environmental standards within all maintenance plans to maintain a safe, compliant, and eco-friendly workplace.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks during maintenance planning.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified through trade certificates or equivalent credentials in mechanical or industrial disciplines preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in maintenance planning and scheduling in industrial or heavy manufacturing settings.
- Excellent organizational skills, with strong time management to meet planning deadlines.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Outstanding communication skills paired with a proactive, detail-oriented problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to maintain performance under pressure and comply with stringent schedules and KPIs.
- Experience in sectors like mining, smelting, or metals processing highly advantageous.
