About the Role
Join Nyrstar at their Port Pirie site as an External Services Coordinator, a pivotal role focused on managing and coordinating external service contracts. This position ensures adherence to health, safety, environmental, and commercial standards while promoting contractor productivity and cost-efficiency. Collaborating closely with contractors and internal teams, the role supports a culture of continuous improvement to maximize the value delivered by external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute contracted services with a focus on optimizing productivity, minimizing inefficiencies, and maintaining quality benchmarks.
- Build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with both internal stakeholders and external contractors, acting as a liaison between suppliers and plant representatives.
- Oversee contractor compliance with safety and environmental regulations and promptly handle incident investigations when necessary.
- Analyze service-related expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities including leading improvement initiatives and corrective measures.
- Perform routine audits and evaluations of service delivery to enhance quality, reliability, and compliance, supporting the organisation's continuous improvement objectives.
- Facilitate training and development activities to assist contractors in meeting compliance and operational goals, including participation in corporate safety audits.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven background in managing or assisting with significant contract operations.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of SAP systems for data tracking and management.
- Excellent organisational, communication (both verbal and written), and time management capabilities.
- Proficient in influencing and negotiation to achieve effective outcomes and build robust relationships.
- Effective problem-solving skills combined with lateral thinking abilities.
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management is highly advantageous.
- Previous experience in an industrial environment such as Nyrstar Port Pirie is beneficial.
- Familiarity with maintenance planning or project management is preferred.
- Competency in generating reports using Excel or similar tools is desirable.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with various internal departments including Procurement, Operations, Asset Management, Finance, Safety, Hygiene, Environment, and Purchasing teams.
- Maintain productive partnerships with external contract service providers delivering to the Port Pirie facility.
