Role Overview

Oaks Brisbane Woolloongabba Suites is seeking a proactive, hands-on Maintenance Officer to join their team on a full-time basis. This position involves managing the upkeep, functionality, and safety standards across guest rooms, public spaces, and other hotel facilities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general repair and maintenance duties throughout the property as needed.
• Assist with implementing and following the preventative maintenance program to optimize property upkeep.
• Carry out consistent inspections of guest rooms, public zones, and operational areas behind the scenes.
• Provide introductions and oversight for external contractors engaged for property maintenance tasks.
• Keep detailed, accurate records of daily activities and maintenance schedules.
• Work alongside the Maintenance Manager to coordinate contractor projects and maintenance initiatives.

Working Schedule and Compensation

• Employment is full-time with a Monday to Friday roster, though some weekend work may be required.
• On occasion, after-hours callouts for urgent maintenance might be necessary.
• Hourly pay rates excluding superannuation are: Monday to Friday at $27.97, Saturdays $34.96, and Sundays $41.96.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Practical experience in building or property maintenance, ideally within a hospitality or hotel setting.
• A diligent work ethic with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Familiarity with supporting or administering preventative maintenance programs.
• Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Proactive mindset coupled with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work on a rotating 7-day schedule, including weekends and public holidays.
