Job Description

Oaks Auckland Hotel is seeking a skilled and dependable Chef de Partie to join their kitchen team on a full-time basis. This crucial role supports the smooth functioning of the kitchen by upholding the highest standards in food quality, presentation, and hygiene.

Key Duties

  • Assist in preparing and cooking dishes according to set recipes, ensuring consistent quality.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen team members to maintain efficient daily operations.
  • Focus on plating and presenting dishes with care to meet brand standards.
  • Support the Chef in Charge with organizing back-of-house work schedules.
  • Manage stock control and guarantee safe storage of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas including equipment and storage facilities.
  • Contribute ideas and efforts towards developing new menu items alongside the Head Chef.

Working Hours

  • Approximately 30 hours per week.
  • Rotating roster covering Monday through Sunday.
  • Shifts span breakfast, lunch, and dinner service times.
  • Rostered hours range between 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar chef position within a hotel or restaurant setting.
  • Strong familiarity with various cooking techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work well within a team.
  • Positive and proactive attitude coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for cooking.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work across all meal service periods according to the roster.
