About the Role and Workplace
We are seeking a Maintenance Officer for a purpose-built, 68-bed luxury care home based in Margate, Kent. Our home delivers exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite Care within the community.
The role entails hands-on responsibilities ensuring the care home remains safe, functional, and well maintained at all times. You will be integral in supporting the comfort and safety of residents through practical maintenance and facility upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, installations, and upkeep of the building and external grounds.
- Monitor equipment and systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Collaborate with the Home Manager and wider team for maintenance scheduling, compliance checks, and coordination with contractors.
- Maintain high health and safety standards during all maintenance activities.
Candidate Profile
- Relevant prior experience in maintenance, facilities management, or related roles.
- Sound knowledge of general building repairs, electrical maintenance, and associated practical skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing workload effectively and efficiently.
- Clear understanding of health and safety regulations.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Reliable, organized, and practical approach to maintenance duties.
Employment Details and Benefits
- Hourly pay rate: £16.64 per hour.
- Contracted hours: 40 per week.
- Paid DBS checks and pension provided.
- Uniform supplied.
- Annual leave entitlement: 5.6 weeks (full-time equivalent).
