Role Summary

We are actively seeking a Maintenance Officer to maintain safety, functionality, and comfort within the care home. This hands-on position involves performing repairs, routine inspections, installations, and general maintenance of the building and grounds. The role requires ensuring the proper operation and safety of equipment and systems, detecting problems early, and promptly addressing them.

Responsibilities

• Perform diverse maintenance duties including building repairs, grounds upkeep, and equipment servicing.
• Conduct regular inspections and identify maintenance issues proactively.
• Support compliance with health and safety regulations to maintain a secure environment.
• Coordinate with the Home Manager and relevant contractors to schedule necessary work and maintenance plans.
• Maintain organization and record-keeping related to maintenance activities.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, or similar roles.
• Solid understanding of general building repairs, electrical systems, and maintenance protocols.
• Ability to operate independently, managing tasks and priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with health and safety procedures and compliance requirements.
• A practical, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.
• Dependable, well organized, and capable of problem-solving under minimal supervision.

Employment Terms and Benefits

• Hourly wage of £14.00.
• Full-time contract with contracted weekly hours.
• Paid Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership, pension plan, and uniform provided.
• Annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks (pro-rated for full-time employment).
