Role Summary
Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Maintenance Engineer specializing in Electrical/Mechatronics will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. This role demands overseeing the dependable operation, functionality, and safety of factory machinery including press machines, CNC and laser cutters, drilling equipment, tube mill and slitting lines, plus associated automation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective hands-on maintenance for all factory machines and equipment.
- Train, mentor, and aid junior technicians and apprentices.
- Diagnose and repair components across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, control systems, motor drives, sensors, and automation panels.
- Maximize equipment uptime while minimizing breakdown frequency.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to reduce downtime and enhance process efficiency.
- Ensure strict adherence to maintenance protocols, company policies, and safety standards.
- Create and manage maintenance schedules focused on electrical systems.
- Implement safety measures like lock-out/tag-out and conduct risk assessments during maintenance tasks.
- Monitor vital parameters such as vibration, temperature, lubrication, and energy consumption.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Innovate and apply new systems or minor mechanical modifications.
- Manage coordination and oversight of third-party contractors for general building maintenance.
- Handle spare parts management and maintain technical communication with OEMs and suppliers.
- Supervise and assign daily tasks to maintenance technicians and contractors, ensuring procedural compliance.
- Promote a safety-conscious, proactive maintenance culture through training and leadership.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance shutdowns in alignment with production and QA teams.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 5 years minimum experience in industrial or factory maintenance environments.
- Proven competency with press machinery, CNC, laser cutting, drilling, tube mill, and slitting line maintenance and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial automation components such as PLCs, drives, motors, sensors, and control systems.
- Advanced skills in electrical systems diagnosis and repair.
- Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques and tools.
- Familiarity with safety standards including OSHA and ISO, as well as energy management practices.
- Experience participating in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and 5S workplace organization projects.
- Ability to suggest and drive improvements such as automation upgrades to boost reliability and energy efficiency.
- Competency in maintaining detailed logs, reporting, and equipment maintenance histories.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Proficiency with MS Office, CMMS systems, and maintenance reporting software.

- Skilled in analyzing repetitive failures and executing root cause analysis to implement corrective measures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work night shifts and respond to emergency maintenance call-outs as required.
