Job Overview and Responsibilities

• Develop, schedule, and supervise both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and unplanned corrective maintenance tasks across electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical machinery and systems.
• Continuously monitor machinery and equipment to detect potential malfunctions early, thereby reducing unanticipated stoppages and minimizing downtime.
• Take charge of diagnosing faults and executing repairs involving electrical, mechanical, and control systems issues.
• Participate in new machinery projects including installation, commissioning, testing, and handover, ensuring maintenance needs and technical standards are incorporated from the outset.
• Engage actively in activities such as machine construction, modifications, overhauls, refurbishments, and updates.
• Prepare and maintain detailed preventive maintenance schedules, checklists, technical procedures, and maintenance protocols for all assigned equipment.
• Investigate recurring equipment failures by conducting root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective measures to avoid repetition.
• Lead initiatives to solve persistent problems and drive continuous improvements enhancing equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety, and maintenance outcomes.
• Collaborate with Production and other operational teams to arrange maintenance work in a way that least disrupts ongoing operations.
• Keep meticulous records including maintenance logs, equipment histories, work orders, breakdown reports, and technical documents.
• Help develop and track maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs) such as equipment availability, downtime, failure frequency, PPM completion rates, and maintenance response times.
• Oversee spare parts and materials management, including inventory control, critical part identification, minimum stock levels, and prompt replenishment.
• Review and assist with technical specifications for procurement of spare parts, tools, and maintenance services to ensure suitability and quality.
• Supervise external contractors and service providers during specialized maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs, and routine servicing.
• Ensure all maintenance operations comply fully with health, safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct regular inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems to verify safety and reliability.
• Participate in budgeting activities including preparing maintenance budgets, annual maintenance plans, and proposals for equipment replacement or capital projects.
• Study and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams for accurate maintenance and repair practices.
• Support implementation and continual improvement of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), ensuring accurate and current maintenance data.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff in effective troubleshooting, repair techniques, preventive upkeep, and safe work practices.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are properly recorded and completed within designated timeframes.
• Engage in equipment performance evaluation, reliability enhancement programs, and initiatives that promote energy efficiency.
• Maintain preparedness to handle urgent repairs and critical equipment failures swiftly and effectively.
• Advocate for technical enhancements, upgrades to equipment, and process changes to boost reliability, productivity, and operational performance.
• Perform additional maintenance and engineering duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• At least three years of practical experience in maintenance engineering roles.
• Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
• Proven expertise in preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks.
• Strong skills in fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Experience using PPM, CMMS platforms, and maintenance planning tools.
• Knowledge relating to spare parts inventory management and maintenance documentation procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics accurately.
• Awareness and application of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and maintenance safety protocols.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance systems.
• Effective command of English is required; knowledge of Arabic considered a plus.
