Job description
Overview
This role requires a licensed electrician proficient in working rotating shifts across days, afternoons, and nights. The position involves maintaining high-speed packaging equipment for a top-tier food company, with excellent benefits and advanced technology integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve production targets by implementing preventive maintenance programs and ensuring machines are properly calibrated and synchronized.
- Verify machine settings after setups or changeovers and communicate problems to maintenance, production teams, and equipment OEMs.
- Engage actively in Continuous Improvement projects focused on line enhancements and act as the primary internal technical expert.
- Train machine operators on operation principles of ZIP lines, troubleshooting, setups, changeovers, and routine maintenance activities.
- Work with Maintenance Manager, Planner, and Purchaser to maintain adequate machine spare parts inventory and replenish as necessary.
- Adhere to and support company Health & Safety policies including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), personnel safety measures, safe lifting, working at heights, and incident reporting.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must be flexible to rotate shifts, including weekends, with potential overtime.
- Technical College diploma in Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing Process, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a senior manufacturing operator or equivalent education/experience.
- Possession of Electrician Trade Certificates.
- At least 3 years' experience in food processing or a related sector is advantageous.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and food safety protocols.
- Knowledge of AB and European PLCs and Servo Drives.
- Experience with high-speed Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Food Manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong observational skills to detect and resolve quality or production issues proactively.
- Competent in prioritizing workload to minimize errors and ensure timely task completion.
- Ability to train personnel on operations and machine maintenance.
- Capability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Physical ability to frequently lift and bend; occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.
Additional Information
- Work schedule follows a rotation: two weeks days, two weeks afternoons, and two weeks nights.
- Two weeks of vacation provided annually.
