Job Overview

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for managing daily maintenance tasks to ensure the hotels operate smoothly and safely. This role involves hands-on work in painting, decorating, gardening, plumbing, tiling, carpentry, and general equipment maintenance. You will also assist skilled tradespeople and collaborate closely with all hotel departments to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage daily maintenance workload, utilizing resources for painting, decorating, and gardening duties.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance across trades including tiling, plumbing, and carpentry to avoid equipment failure.
  • Diagnose and address faults in hotel equipment and control systems to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support plumbers and electricians with repairing defects in hotel systems.
  • Work cooperatively with different hotel departments to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure that all maintenance work adheres to professional quality and health and safety standards.
  • Follow all relevant health and safety guidelines and HACCP protocols to maintain safe working environments.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in the hospitality sector is advantageous.
  • Having a Safe Pass certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Possession of qualifications in trades such as painting, plumbing, or general construction is desirable.
  • Self-driven with the ability to prioritize workloads efficiently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Capability to multitask effectively in a busy and dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required by hotel operations.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.
