Role Overview
At our Hamilton plant in Pukete, which has been producing Melteca board for over four decades, you will work as a Machine Operator responsible for ensuring safe and efficient production. Melteca boards are commonly found in homes, schools, hospitals, retirement villages, and commercial facilities.
Your daily tasks will involve setting machine parameters, continuously monitoring system performance, making adjustments on digital control panels and switches, operating forklifts, performing quality checks, and troubleshooting issues.
The position operates on a rotating shift schedule of four days on and four days off, with alternating two day shifts and two night shifts totaling 42 hours per week.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 2 to 3 years of practical experience as a Machine Operator within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating industrial machinery and forklifts safely and effectively.
- Strong focus on detail and dedication to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Good physical condition capable of occasional shared lifting up to 25 kg and working at heights or within confined spaces.
- Ability to quickly learn new procedures with sound technical skills applied in practical settings.
- Effective communication capabilities and experience working collaboratively in teams.
- Basic computer skills sufficient to manage digital control systems.
- Preferably holding a Class 1 Full Driver's Licence and OSH Forklift Licence is an advantage.
Additional Requirements
Pre-employment medical screening and a criminal record check are mandatory to ensure workplace safety. Applicants must have legal authorization to work in New Zealand.
