Job description
Overview
This role involves designing and building web and mobile applications using the OutSystems low-code platform, supporting business operations and services within NCSS. The engineer will collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to convert business needs into technical solutions.
Primary Duties
- Develop and design user interfaces, workflows, and integrations through the OutSystems platform catering to business and service delivery objectives.
- Collaborate with product teams, business analysts, and various stakeholders to interpret requirements and create scalable technical solutions.
- Build integrations that connect various NCSS platforms and external applications.
- Maintain application architecture and infrastructure supporting operational, reporting, and analytical workloads.
- Conduct application testing, validation, and performance optimization to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Continuously monitor applications and systems to detect potential issues or performance limitations.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software issues within OutSystems applications serving NCSS digital products.
- Document development processes and system configuration details comprehensively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent technical disciplines.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience delivering OutSystems-based solutions.
- Preferably experienced with public sector project delivery.
- Certifications related to OutSystems are advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of OutSystems application architecture and design patterns.
- Competent in OutSystems development encompassing web service integration and API development methodologies.
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational database systems and their query languages.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services such as S3, Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
- Awareness of application security concepts including access control and logging.
- Experience with version control tools like Git and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
