Job description

Position Overview

Join Westin Hotels & Resorts as a Loss Prevention Associate, responsible for safeguarding property and guests. You'll patrol the premises, oversee security systems including CCTV and alarms, and ensure entrances are secured. Your role includes conducting daily inspections for hazards, responding to emergencies by administering first aid or coordinating EMS, and managing guest or employee disturbances while maintaining operational order.

Core Duties

  • Monitor security systems such as perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire safety equipment.
  • Complete detailed incident reports for all security or loss prevention occurrences.
  • Manage safety incidents including vehicle accidents and unauthorized entries.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, and interview involved parties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive security information, disclosing only to authorized personnel.
  • Assist guests and employees during emergencies and ensure their safety throughout the property.
  • Perform routine security tasks such as locking access points and escorting unwanted visitors from the premises.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk extensively during shifts.
  • Capability to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavy objects over 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Navigate confined, elevated, sloped, and slippery spaces including stairs and ramps.
  • Perform fine motor tasks involving hand-eye coordination to handle equipment and tools.
  • Meet visual requirements for reading small print and inspecting machinery.

  • Adhere strictly to company policies, safety protocols, and maintain professional appearance.
  • Provide warm, proactive guest interactions and assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, preparing precise documentation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • No prior experience or supervisory responsibilities required.
  • No specific licenses or certifications necessary.
