Roles and Responsibilities

• Operate the Looper machine safely and efficiently, verifying equipment is checked daily at shift start.
• Adhere to the production schedule issued by supervisors carefully.
• Confirm that materials are not flagged for Quality (Q) or Safety (S) holds before cutting.
• Prepare foam buns for cutting, including trimming and gluing as needed.
• Inspect foam blocks to ensure foam type, run number, and dimensions match specifications.
• Cut (slit) foam buns following specific work order instructions.
• Measure foam length, width, gauge, and thickness accurately.
• Complete all necessary documentation such as Batch Information and Roll Measurement forms, potentially using electronic entry.
• Operate conveyor systems to transport rolls to further processing equipment including convoluters, roll compressors, and laminators.
• Generate and affix roll identification labels as required.
• Document all foam waste quantities daily and report to supervisors.
• Dispose of scrap materials responsibly, ensuring the work area remains clean.
• Immediately report equipment malfunctions or concerns to supervisors, leads, or maintenance if needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation on a daily basis.
• Perform inventory tasks and manage bin-to-bin stock transfers.
• May be required to operate a forklift; maintaining or obtaining certification is necessary.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.

Qualifications and Safety

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic proficiency with computer systems.
• Mandatory use of full personal protective equipment, including safety glasses/side shields and cartridge respirators upon request; strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Forklift certification is regarded as a supplementary but valuable qualification.
• Physical examination including pulmonary function testing for respirator use is required.
